Camarones WaterCurrently, Camarones residents are expected to purchase their water from truck shipments; however, due to seasonal flooding that prevents the trucks from accessing the community, community members are forced to obtain their water from an untreated river, resulting in obvious health and safety concerns. Our main goal was to install an electric well pump, implement an appropriate water treatment system, and install a piping network to provide a safe and reliable water supply year-round for the community.

Tabuga BridgeStudents in kindergarten through twelfth grade have to walk along a busy highway on a narrow shoulder in order to get to their school. Motorists frequently speed around a corner on this highway, creating a dangerous route for these students. The goal of this project was to construct a pedestrian bridge so that the students can travel safely on an alternate path from the town to the school instead of walking along the highway.

Unfortunately, the Camarones Water Project and the Tabuga Bridge Project were both cancelled due to a variety of reasons. While we lead with a heavy heart at these cancellations, we are ecstatic to begin our project in Nicaragua.
